The question of the ratio of the ball mill is a question that often troubles everyone. Whether the steel balls of the lamp are reasonable and directly affects the production power of the ball mill, and to a certain extent, the production quality of the ball mill. What about the making of the ball? How to add steel balls to the ball mill according to the size of the steel balls?

First of all, the ball milling ratio of steel balls in cement plants, mines, thermal power plants, and chemical plants depends on the size of the ball mill surface, the hardness of the ore, the size of the ore of the ball mill, the hardness (quality) of the steel balls, the speed of the ball mill and other factors. Steel balls to determine the increase ratio of steel balls. When the type of ball mill is determined, the speed of the ball mill is determined, and the hardness of the ore can be measured. The particle size of the ore of the goal mill is determined by the scale of the sieve. Usually, the ball mill of the new device has a running-in process of steel balls for motorcycle parts. During the running-in process, the amount of steel balls increases for the first time, accounting for 80% of the ball mill’s maximum loading. The increased share of steel balls can be based on the steel ball size (ф120mm, ф100mm, ф80mm, ф60mm, ф40mm) increase in size.

Increased amount of steel balls: Different ball mill types have different total ball sizes. For example, MQG1500×3000 ball mill (processing capacity 100-150 tons) has a maximum ball loading capacity of 9.5-10 tons. It is the first time to increase the amount of steel balls in the ball mill running-in process. The large balls (ф120mm—ф100mm) accounted for 30%-40%, the medium balls 80mm accounted for 40%-30%, and the small balls (ф60 and ф40mm) accounted for 30%. Only increase by 80%. Because the ball mill is well equipped and the large and fine teeth of the ball mill need to be meshed, the amount (ore volume) must be gradually increased. After the ball mill is working normally for two or three days, stop the ball mill to check the meshing status of the large and fine gears, and wait for everything to be normal. , Open the manhole cover of the ball mill and increase the remaining 20% steel balls.

After the ball mill is turned on and working normally, the increase of steel balls in each class is increased by 3:4:3 (ф120mm is 3, ф100mm is 4, and ф80mm is 3). Note: The increase of small steel balls is only for the first time adding balls. Because the reasonable friction between the steel ball and the steel ball, the steel ball and the ore, the steel ball and the ball mill liner during the normal operation of the ball mill, the wear will increase, and the large ball mill will be small (the mill is the medium ball), and the medium ball mill will be small ball.

Therefore, under normal conditions, there is no need to add small balls. The condition of adding pellets is that there is no monomer dissociation in the useful mineral particle size. When the fineness of the ore mill does not meet the flotation requirements, appropriate pellets can be added. The steel balls in the ball mill are constantly worn during the working process. In order to maintain the ball load filling rate and the reasonable ratio of the balls, and to maintain the stable operation of the ball mill, it is necessary to make reasonable ball filling and low-compensated wear. The increased weight of the steel ball is based on the quality of the steel ball, and the quality of the steel ball determines the increase in ore consumption per ton.


It is best to use new wear-resistant steel balls. The best (good quality) steel ball increase is calculated based on the amount of ore processed per ton (that is, an increase of 0.8kg per ton of ore). Normal steel balls need to process one ton of ore (1kg—1.2kg). The size of the steel ball is different, and the ratio of the ball mill type is different. The diameter of the ball mill is below 2500mm, and the steel ball dimensions are increased to ф100mm, ф80mm, and ф60mm. When the diameter of the ball mill is above 2500, the steel ball dimensions are increased to ф120mm, ф100mm, and ф80mm.
